We are the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Southern Connecticut (SCDAA-SC). In pursuit of systemic change, SCDAA-SC embraces prevention strategies to enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals affected by sickle cell disease (SCD), the trait and related conditions and to provide individuals and families with critical education and access to support services through innovative partnerships and advocacy.
Our vision is to enhance all aspects of the quality of life within the SCD community inclusive of finding a cure!
SCDAA-SC was founded by Virginia Scott with other concerned citizens of Bridgeport, CT in 1985. The organization continues to grow and has helped many individuals through several programs.
